Quote of the Month

“Our happiness or our unhappiness depends far more on the way

Exercise of the month:

Plank on the Ball

Benefits:

  • Strengthens the abdominals, back, spinal stabilizers, shoulder stabilizers, pectorals & gluteals.
  • Improves Balance

How to do this exercise:

(Always be sure to check with your Dr before performing this or any other new exercise especially if you have heart problems, high or low blood pressure, neck problems or are pregnant)

1. Stand in a lunge position, find your balance and place your hands on the sides of the ball with the fingertips       pointing downward. (For help with stability, place the ball against the wall so that it does not move - this will give       you more stability and make it easier for you to balance.)

2. Press your hands into the ball and make sure you feel balanced.

3. Bring foot back into plank position, as in 2nd photo above. Balance and hold for 10 seconds.

4. Repeat 3-5x

Things that I Love and Recommend:

CD ~ Mariah Carey
The Emancipation of Mimi

A great cd - you'll hear it in my classes this month.

BOOK ~ YOU, The Owners Manual by Michael F. Roizen, M.D. and Mehmet C. Oz, M.D.
As shown on Oprah, this book states simply what we need to do to improve our health.

Something to Think About:
What one thing can you do today to improve your health and well-being?

Write it down and look at it daily.
