Recipe of the month

~Pepper Parmesean Spaghetti with Chopped Veggie Salad~

1 lb of spaghetti

1.5 tsp Fresh Ground Pepper

1/4 cup Fresh Grated Parmesean Cheese

1 small red onion, chopped

1 large carrot, chopped

1 stalks of celery, chopped

1 cup sugar snap peas, chopped

1 cup chopped yellow and orange peppers

1 cup of fresh cut raw corn

1 cup chopped fresh tomatoes

2 tbsp organic italian dressing

 

  1. Cook pasta in boiling water according to directions on package.

  2. In a big bowl combine vegetables and dressing.

  3. When pasta is done drain pasta but keep some cooking water.

  4. In a bowl combine pasta, parmesean and pepper. Add cooking water if necessary. Add more pepper and/or salt to taste.

  5.   Garnish with basil and fresh parmesean slices - Eat and enjoy!

Exercise of the month

Ball Side Leg Lift

Benefits:

  • Strengthens the abdominals (transversus abdominus, rectus abdominus and obliques)

  • Focuses a neutral position for stabilization

  •   Strengthens the abductors and   quadratus lumborum.

How to do this exercise:

(Always be sure to check with your Dr before performing this or any other new exercise especially if you have heart problems, high or low blood pressure, back or neck problems or are pregnant)

  1. Lie on your side with ball between your feet. Chest open, scapulae neutral and abs zipped. Body straight.

  2. Inhale and prepare. Exhale and lift the legs off the floor. Inhale lower, and exhale repeat.
